CCNA ICND1 Lab2 - Restore Switch Password
Lab Tips: Sometimes, the user forgets the password of the switch and therefore, cannot enter the privilege mode. You can restore the password without losing any other configurations.
Lab Requirements: 1. Set the enable password of the switch again. 2. The original configurations will not be lost. Lab Process: 1. Turn the switch off and reboot it. Hold down the mode button when rebooting the switch. 2.>dir flash: Note that there is “:” after the word “flash”. 3.rename flash:config.text flash:config.old Rename the original configuration file config.old. If you delete config.text directly, the original configurations will be lost. 4.flash_init Delete the configuration file. 5.boot Reboot the switch. Continue with configuration dialog?[yes/no]: no / Discontinue with configuration dialog. Switch>enable Switch#rename flash:config.old flash:config.text / Rename the configuration file. Destination filename[running-config]? running-config Router#configure terminal Router(config)#enable password pass4sure / Set the enable password again. Router(config)#exit Router#copy running-config startup-config / Save the configurations. |
